Try to leave your organic/natural products (without chemical preservatives) open in the shower for a few days! I left the lid of a paraben-free shampoo open once for a few days by accident, and I found that it gave me a significant front acne. When I looked into the bottle, it was absolutely unpleasant. Again, although the tests of cosmetics and standard skin care cover bacterial and fungal growth for products with chemical preservative systems, I fear it may not be enough for typical use. The issue is NOT Vitamin E or BeeswaxOther experts claim that the problem with the lip balm EOS may be the inclusion of vitamin E or beeswax wax (). Although I agree that natural ingredients do not have to be purified as synthetic ingredients and can certainly trigger allergies, I do not agree that vitamin E or bee wax is the likely problem here. There are many quality skin care products that have been on the market for decades with high concentrations of vitamin E and wax that have never caused problems, such as Skinceuticals CE Ferúlic (with 1% purified vitamin E) and Jergen's All-Purpose Face Cream (with close to as much wax as EOS lipstick). Bottom Line In the search for safer products for us and our families, I fear that the pendulum has done much differently. I personally believe that some natural and organic products do not contain suitable preservative systems to cover the entire range of bacteria and fungi that can grow under certain conditions imposed by users.
