The Balm of EOS Remember: My Opinion Behind the EOS Lip Balm Rash and EOS Lip Balm Reaction According to several sources, it can cause an eruption and an allergic reaction. In fact, a woman is against the brand with claims that the lipid gave her a serious reaction to the skin. The plaintiff, Rachael Cronin, said he bought an EOS lipstick from Target, applied it, and felt his lips become even more dry, according to TMZ. After continuing to spin the balm of lips, he experienced the blistering, cracked and tears that he says he took 10 days to completely clarify. But how could he be causing the reaction? Here are my own thoughts on the situation: How most organic and natural products are moved using parabens Let's see the list of ingredients for a typical in Moisturizing Mint:Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil*, Beeswax (Cire D'abeille)*, Cocos Nucifera (Cococout) Oil*, Simmondsia Pinensis (Jojoba) **Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil*. Organic certified by Oregon Tilth. Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil*, Beeswax (Cire D'abeille)*, Cocos Nucifera (Coco) Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil*, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*, Stevia Rebaudiana Le/afne *Organic. **Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil*. Organic certified by Oregon Tilth.*Organic. **Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil*. Organic certified by Oregon Tilth. Although it is unpopular to say it right now, I think parabens are the most effective condom system in skin care and cosmetics today. they are not in the care of the skin and cosmetic products because the manufacturers are cheap, negligent, or trying to hurt them. In fact, I think it is the only effective protection against most bacterial species, due largely to their ability to interfere with the metabolic pathways of bacteria in a manner similar to many antibiotics (, 2005). To overcome the controversy surrounding parabens as phytoestrogens, many manufacturers have begun to use organic acids as preservatives. However, as a study shows, the following organic acids have been found to be effective against fungi, NOT many types of bacteria ():The reason these organic acids fight fungi and not bacteria is because they interact only with the cell walls of microorganisms. Some bacteria, like Mycoplasma, don't even have a cellular wall! To protect products, many cosmetics companies include ingredients such as phenoxyetanol, benzyl alcohol and chloroacetamide to improve their effectiveness against bacteria, but the combination of these ingredients with organic acids does not seem to be as effective as parabens, either (). EOS Lip Balm Contains No Parabens, Organic Acids or Other Preservatives From the list of ingredients, EOS seems to use limousine and linalool as the only condom system. I've been saying it at FutureDerm: I don't think this is enough! While EOS and many organic/natural companies have their hearts in the right place, it is my opinion that you may be putting in more risk without chemical preservatives. It is true that cosmetic and skin care products should be subjected to extensive antimicrobial tests before being sold in the United States and have a typical life of two-year shelf. However, minimal regulatory tests do not include conditions in which bacteria-covered fingers are repeatedly laid in your bare balm pot, or by storing the bare balm pot filled with bacteria and fungi in a hot and humid place (as if you could leave your baroque balm in your car in the months of hot and humid summer), or if you share the balm with others. Try to leave your organic/natural products (without chemical preservatives) open in the shower for a few days! I left the lid of a paraben-free shampoo open once for a few days by accident, and I found that it gave me a significant front acne. When I looked into the bottle, it was absolutely unpleasant. Again, although the tests of cosmetics and standard skin care cover bacterial and fungal growth for products with chemical preservative systems, I fear it may not be enough for typical use. The issue is NOT Vitamin E or BeeswaxOther experts claim that the problem with the lip balm EOS may be the inclusion of vitamin E or beeswax wax (). Although I agree that natural ingredients do not have to be purified as synthetic ingredients and can certainly trigger allergies, I do not agree that vitamin E or bee wax is the likely problem here. There are many quality skin care products that have been on the market for decades with high concentrations of vitamin E and wax that have never caused problems, such as Skinceuticals CE Ferúlic (with 1% purified vitamin E) and Jergen's All-Purpose Face Cream (with close to as much wax as EOS lipstick). Bottom Line In the search for safer products for us and our families, I fear that the pendulum has done much differently. I personally believe that some natural and organic products do not contain suitable preservative systems to cover the entire range of bacteria and fungi that can grow under certain conditions imposed by users. Like the dermatologist trained by Stanford, Dr. Kathy Fields, M.D. of ProActiv and Rodan+Fields, once he told me, "The benefit of the superior call is to give good information evident to tell what is real and what is a lie; to help the consumer. It is so overwhelming, and there is also so much policy involved in some of the ingredients. Unfortunately a lot of misinformation is wrong. No one wants cancer of a cosmetic, as in the case of rumors about . By the way, you see it everywhere. Did you know you ate a spoonful of? Parabens are naturally found in the blueberries!" It's a shame, but I agree with what I've said over and over at FutureDerm: I think it's no safer to go without proven preservatives, unless I use the entire product bottle within a short period of time. Whether it supports the use of parabens, organic acids plus phenoxyethanol/chlorracetamide, or another condom system as a whole, I hope that this controversy will inspire natural and organic skin care companies to start by including amounts of chemical preservatives that are effective against a wider variety of limusne/linalool bacteria and fungi just to help keep consumers safe. According to counsel, Mark Geragos, who represented the plaintiff, the brand will update its labial balm container to address the adverse reactions that some customers have had. Here is your full statement: "I am very pleased that we have been able to resolve the matter so quickly and friendly with the EOS limestone products. This is a testament for EOS to respond to the concerns of its consumers. EOS has shown through data that its lip balms are hypoallergenic, and has provided a mechanism to resolve individual cases. EOS makes great products and the company is doing the right thing by adding more information about its labial balm products in packaging so that buyers can make informed decisions. We'll be asking the courts to close this case. "EOS also issued the following statement: "We are pleased to announce that the demand for class action against EOS has been resolved earlier this month. Our products are safe, and this agreement confirms. Our lip balms are hypoallergenic, proven dermatologists, made with ingredients of the highest quality, meet or exceed all the safety and quality standards established by our industry, and are validated by rigorous safety tests performed by independent laboratories. We love our customers and their enjoyment of our products is our top priority. We thank you for your continued support. "This article was originally published on January 13, 2016. EOS, creator of many loved ones, including celebrities like and , faces a demand for class action presented by a woman who says the product caused her serious reactions. Even if you're not addicted to EOS like some of us, let's see our rounds — we know you're familiar with the distinctive ball-shaped balm, which comes in a variety of flashy caramel colors and populates the cash register area of each chain store, pharmacy and supermarket in the Western Hemisphere. Well, the plaintiff, Rachael Cronin, claims that after buying an EOS at Target on December 4, he ended up with severe cracks, bleeding, blisters and agitated lips. She sought medical attention for the reaction, which lasted 10 days. on Facebook "adjusted a frenzy of responses from other individuals who shared the identical experience with EOS. It became clear that this was a national problem of mass health," which some customers also expressed problems with mold cultivation in their balms. The costume produces: "A substantial number of consumers, about information and beliefs in the tens of thousands, and potentially in excess of hundreds of thousands, who have bought and used the product — which generate all gender, ages and race, have experienced devastating adverse reactions to the product, consisting of mild to severe rashes, dryness, bleeding, blisters, cracks and permanent pigmentation loss, which last for a few days, consumers. The suit also claims that the company is very aware of these problems. "EOS is, and has been, noting the severe adverse side effects caused by the use of your product. Consumer complaints have flooded the EOS Facebook page and its email. Consumers, including the plaintiff in this action, have written to EOS to share their complaints and adverse health problems arising from the use of production. "In the meantime, EOS maintains that there is nothing to see here. "We firmly believe that this demand has no merit," says a statement we received after arriving at the company to comment. "Our products are manufactured with top quality ingredients and meet or exceed all the safety and quality standards established by our industry and validated by rigorous tests performed by an independent laboratory. The health and well-being of our customers is our top priority and millions of satisfied customers use our products every day, many of which take the time to share their experiences with us." (our source of "truths") published in recent years mention burning rashes, dryness, fur and other contact reactions of type dermatitis. In general, the product. This comes in the heels of another demand for high profile beauty, against the WEN hair care brand by Chaz Dean. We'll be watching this closely as history develops. In the meantime, will those who love EOS continue to use it? Have any of you experienced problems like those mentioned in the suit? Please share your thoughts in the comments below.
